The central square of Roussa Ekklisia, with the massive old plane tree, has a fountain built by the Eparch of Sitia, Konstantinos Axelos, in 1877.
The church by the square is dedicated to Agios Nikolaos (St. Nicholas).
At the site of Anoixi a shrine with many archaic findings was excavated and at the site of Kastri the ruins of a fortified city with towers have been found.
Close by to Roussa Ekklisia there are the deserted settlements of Kruoneri, Xerolimni, Mitato, Vrusidi, Magkhasa and Honos, with excellent samples of old traditional Cretan architecture.
The cafes in Roussa Ekklisia serve traditional Sitian food.
